Massachusetts Announces the New Mass. Manufacturing Accelerate Program (MMAP)

The new MMAP program aims to co-invest in small- to medium-sized manufacturers to better prepare their businesses to meet the demands of ‘Industry 4.0,’ the innovation-driven production methods powered by smart technologies such as data analytics, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, automation, and connected technologies to stay competitive.

The Mash-Up on Sept. 28th gave us an opportunity to get a jump start on celebrating manufacturing month. It was a fun day filled with engaging presentations, captivating exhibits, award ceremonies, and networking in an amazing venue, Polar Park in Worcester, MA.

18 Central Mass. manufacturers honored at State House

Nearly 20 Central Massachusetts manufacturers were honored at the Massachusetts State House by the Legislature's Manufacturing Caucus during the fourth annual manufacturing award ceremony.

The caucus honored 78 manufacturers statewide, from a variety of different areas, from breweries to plastic molding and farms. Each year the Manufacturing Caucus of Massachusetts accepts submissions from various representatives and senators on behalf of manufacturing companies throughout Massachusetts.

ACC’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center Turns Training Into Jobs — Quickly

With much of the manufacturing workforce starting to age out and a dearth of young people entering the field, companies have been struggling for some time to find the skilled employees they need to grow. One successful model changing the equation is the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center at Asnuntuck Community College, which is placing students with a one-year certificate to work in good-paying careers — while meeting area companies’ critical talent needs. It is, in short, a true win-win.
